The same company was hired by the city to build the new Winnipeg Police Headquarters, also under investigation.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

On Thursday a statement from Canada Post indicated it had “commenced legal proceedings in its efforts to analyze and quantify any money that may be owing to the Corporation in relation to the construction of the Winnipeg Mail Processing plant.”

As part of that process it has filed a court notice to request access to certain materials related to the plant that have been seized by the RCMP.

The statement also said it is cooperating fully with the RCMP investigation. “As this remains an ongoing police investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
