Halifax District RCMP are investigating after a single-vehicle collision Tuesday left one man with serious injuries.
Police say prior to 12 p.m. they responded to a single-vehicle collision on St. Margaret’s Bay Road in Lewis Lake.
On arrival, police say they found a 52-year-old man from Beaverbank — the driver and only occupant — had been ejected and pinned under the car.
EHS and Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency were able to remove the man and he was transported to the QEII in Halifax.
According to police, an initial investigation determined the 2008 Honda Accord had been seen driving at a high rate of speed and was passing vehicles before entering the ditch.
Police say the man is also being investigated for theft from a local business which occurred before the collision.
An RCMP collision analyst also attended the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
