EHS and Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency were able to remove the man and he was transported to the QEII in Halifax.

According to police, an initial investigation determined the 2008 Honda Accord had been seen driving at a high rate of speed and was passing vehicles before entering the ditch.

Police say the man is also being investigated for theft from a local business which occurred before the collision.

An RCMP collision analyst also attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
