As many as a dozen police cars were on scene at Portage Avenue and Maryland Street Tuesday afternoon after a man was stabbed multiple times in the upper body.
Officers swarmed the intersection just after 5 p.m.and cordoned off an intersection as part of an investigation.

The Winnipeg Police Service says an assault with a weapon took place, and a male in his 40’s was sent to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Four people have been taken into custody.
