Calgary police investigating the shooting death of a man in Riverbend last year say while they have recovered the firearms believed to have been used, they’re still looking to the public for help.
Kyle Rowe, 26, was found suffering from serious injuries in the back seat of a white BMW in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Riverbend Drive S.E. at around 10:50 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.
He was later declared dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, police announced the guns believed to have been used in Rowe’s death had been recovered in a southeast neighbourhood thanks to tips from the public, and are currently undergoing forensic testing.
“We were able to confirm that those firearms located are the firearms used in the Kyle Rowe homicide,” Staff Sgt. Kurt Jacobs said in a news conference.
Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted attack and said there’s no danger to the public. A specific motive for the shooting, however, is not yet known.
Police are asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious behaviour in the southeast communities of Acadia, Willow Park, Maple Ridge, Lake Bonavista or Deer Run, around the time of Rowe’s death to contact them. This includes suspicious vehicles and people whose actions seemed “out of the ordinary.”
