Chance of morning showers for southern Manitoba on Canada Day

WINNIPEG — While there is a risk of severe weather Thursday in parts of southern Manitoba, the later half of the long weekend should be a sunny one for most of the province.

Canada Day in southern Manitoba could start off with some showers in the morning and early afternoon, but clearing later in the day. Temperatures should be close to the mid twenties. The rest of the long weekend will likely be sunny and hot as those temperatures slowly climb to the upper twenties by Monday.

In northern Manitoba, showers will be present for a few areas but mostly in the morning hours. Overcast conditions will dominate the forecast for most of the north with temperatures generally peaking just shy of 20 C.

Rain will be the story for much of eastern Canada. There’s a chance of showers in Toronto and Ottawa. Much of Quebec and the Maritimes will also deal with rainy conditions.
