The Beer Store is making it easier for customers to access their favourite suds by launching a new home delivery pilot project in two Ontario communities this summer.
Officials say Scarborough and Ottawa have been selected to test the service as they fit the criteria for market demand and the number of stores in the delivery footprint.
The Beer Store launched its e-commerce website, Beer Xpress, last summer by offering customers the option to order online for in-store pickup.
“Home delivery is a natural evolution of our Beer Xpress program and we look forward to bringing it to Ottawa and Scarborough for the pilot,” Beer Store president, Ted Moroz, said in a media release.

Customers can choose from 800 brands available. All orders are completed within designated store hours and are delivered in a two-hour window.
There is a base delivery fee of $8 in Ottawa and $9.75 in Scarborough. Officials say the price can vary depending on order size.
In Scarborough, the designated delivery area includes the western boundary at Coxwell Avenue from Lake Ontario north to Danforth Avenue, then Victoria Park from Danforth to the northern boundary at Highway 401, with an eastern boundary at Morningside Avenue from Lake Ontario north to Highway 401.

In Ottawa, the delivery area includes the western boundary at Highway 416 from West Hunt Club Road to northern boundary along the Ottawa river, with the southern boundary approximately north of Ottawa International Airport.
The eastern boundary runs from Davidson Road and Conroy Road at the southeast end, north along or east of St Laurent Boulevard, east to Aviation Parkway, along Sir George-Etienne Parkway to the northern boundary along the Ottawa river.
The LCBO launched its online store last summer which also included a delivery option. Items purchased are free for pickup but a fee of $12 is placed on each delivery order.
