Winnipeg police investigate after man shot in back lane

Winnipeg police are investigating after a man was shot in a back lane of 500 Sherbrook Street.

Police were called to the area around 10 p.m. Sunday for reports of an injured person. A 36-year-old man was found shot in the upper body. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and remained that way Monday morning.

A police news release said the man was shot while walking in the lane. The shooting does not appear to be random.

No one is in custody.
