WINNIPEG — Conditions in Winnipeg this week will gradually improve. We’ll go from cloudy skies with a few showers to sunshine and highs in the mid-20s.
For the second time in a row in May, we had a rainy finish to the weekend. The difference was, this time it was forecast correctly. Official rain totals for Sunday from Environment Canada were 2.8 mm but numbers likely vary across the city.
Monday and into Tuesday we’ll see a few more showers. Totals for the two days combined look like they’ll be pretty light. Around 2-3 mm, meaning we shouldn’t get drenched.
Wednesday will be much more pleasant. High pressure, currently sitting to the west, will move south of the prairies and help warm things up under sunny skies. Thursday looks like the warmest of the week.
Getting to Friday and the weekend, temperatures will probably be slightly cooler than Thursday but it doesn’t look like we’ll be heading into another bout of cooler weather. Temperatures should stay close to normal heading into the weekend and currently, it looks like we won’t make it to three rainy weekends in a row.
