Man wanted in GO bus sexual assault case turns himself in: Toronto police

A suspect sought in the alleged sexual assault of a fellow GO Transit passenger has turned himself in, police say.

According to investigators, a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on board a regional transit bus somewhere between Yorkdale Station and Ajax, Ont., after 6 p.m. on May 15.

Prior to the alleged assault, police said the man sat beside the victim and started talking to her.

“The man’s conversation was sexual in nature,” police said.

A 30-year-old Ajax man, Tahir Shah, surrendered to police on Tuesday. He is facing one count of sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court on July 6.
