Dartmouth youth charged in connection with Halifax robbery

A 15-year-old male from Dartmouth is facing charges in connection with a robbery in Halifax on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say a male youth was observed concealing an item he selected in the Atlantic Superstore at 1075 Barrington St. When he went to leave the store without paying, police say an employee approached him and he produced a knife then left the store. The employee was unharmed.

Less than 10 minutes later officers found and arrested the suspect without incident in the area of Fenwick and Queen streets.

The suspect has been charged with robbery and released. He is set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on June 15.
