Victoria Day in London: What’s open and what’s closed

Residents should prepare for some closures throughout the city on Victoria Day Monday.

Grocery stores, malls, and schools are all closed for the day, but if you’re looking to get out and do something with the kids, there are still several options to choose from.

Here’s a look at what’s open and closed on Monday, May, 22, 2017:

OPEN:

  • Restaurants
  • Labatt Retail Store (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Pioneer Village
  • Fanshawe Conservation Area
  • Storybook Gardens
  • East Park
  • Boler Mountain
  • London Children’s Museum
  • Movie theatres
  • Garden centres
  • YMCA Center Branch (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

CLOSED:

  • Schools
  • Malls
  • Grocery stores
  • LCBO and Beer Stores
  • Costco Wholesale
  • Banks
  • Government offices
  • Canada Post (no mail delivery)
  • London public library branches
  • Garbage and recycling collection
  • Most drug stores

The LTC will be operating on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Meanwhile, the Fanshawe Optimist annual fireworks display at Fanshawe Conservation Area is scheduled to begin Monday at dusk. The cost is $20 cash per carload.
