Body found in southeast Calgary Walmart parking lot not suspicious: police

Calgary police are investigating after a dead body was found in the back seat of a car in the Walmart parking lot at South Trail Crossing Thursday afternoon. Global News

Calgary police announced Friday that the death of a man whose body was found in a southeast Calgary parking lot is not considered suspicious.

The body was discovered in the back seat of a car near the Walmart in South Trail Crossing, in the 4700 block of 130 Avenue S.E., at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said a customer spotted the body on their way into the store. When the man’s body was still there when they came out of the store, they called 911.

Officers said it appeared the man had been there for some time.

As the death is not considered criminal in nature, Calgary police said no further details will be provided.
