The Toronto District School Board confirmed in a statement that the boy was a senior kindergarten student at Morrish Public School, which is at the intersection where the collision happened.

“This is a tragic loss of a young life and our deepest condolences are extended to his grieving family and friends,” spokesman Ryan Bird said, adding the boy was on his way home from school.
