RCMP said a major police presence in Oliver Wednesday night was connected with that investigation. Officers were trying to find the shooting suspect who they believed could be in a motorhome on a Tulameen Street property.

Oliver RCMP set up a blockade on Tulameen St. off Okanagan St. Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. and assembled officers, many with weapons at the ready.

Police said they called in the Southeast District Emergency Response Team because the suspect was armed.

Officers also evacuated other nearby homes as a precaution.
