No charges for man with airsoft gun on University of Saskatchewan campus

Saskatoon police officials say no charges will be laid against a man who was taken into custody after a report of suspicious activity on the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) grounds.

At around 2:45 p.m. CT on Wednesday, protective services officers at the U of S alerted police that a man, possibly armed with a firearm, was near the Diefenbaker Canada Centre.

Officers found an 18-year-old man on Campus Drive in possession of an airsoft gun.

He has since been released from custody.

Police officials said there were no reports of any threatening activity or injuries.
