Four people needed to be rescued after rough waves capsized their boat and slammed it into the iconic Redondo Beach Pier near Los Angeles on Thursday.
The dramatic video shows a rogue wave flip the boat, sending the four passengers into the swirling waters before smashing the boat into one of the pier’s pillars.

A second powerful wave then can be seen cracking the vessel into pieces as it roared underneath the pier’s boardwalk.
“We don’t get this high winds in Redondo Beach,” Sophia Sabawi, who witnessed the incident, told KNBC. “It was scary.”
Sabawi said her husband called 911 while people on the pier jumped in to help the victims.

Firefighters and lifeguards rushed to help pull the stranded people from the water.
Three men and a woman, who were part of a local sailing club, were treated for mild hypothermia.
