An Environment Canada fog advisory was lifted Wednesday afternoon across Alberta. The advisory was first issued early in the morning, as thick fog crept into the Capital Region and caused near-zero visibility.
Edmonton police said between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m., officers responded to six hit-and-run collisions, five injury collisions and 15 property damage collisions. A fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian earlier in the morning was not included in the numbers.
One of the best ways to track locally hazardous driving conditions is from local viewer reports. The #yegtraffic hashtag is often used by Twitter users reporting traffic issues within Edmonton.
