Parts of the GTA dealing with slick and slippery condtions following freezing rain

Environment Canada says a freezing rain warning has now been lifted for several areas around the GTA, but the slick an slippery weather conditions still remain to be dealt with for those in areas to the north and east.

Meteroligist Rob Khun tells Talk Radio AM640, “anyone heading to the north or to the east should be prepared for untreated surfaces. It could be icy and slippery.”

The agency says the freezing rain is no longer in effect for the area between Toronto to as far north as Barrie. Areas further north are still seeing some freezing rain, Khun said Sunday morning.

Sidewalks and roadways are expected to have some slippery conditions, as pedestrians and motorists are being advised to use caution wherever there are icy surfaces.
