ABOVE: People living in a Surrey neighbourhood are anxious tonight after they spotted two men who they suspect of casing their community. A camera caught a man stealing from one of their homes. And while the items might not be valuable, neighbours are concerned the crime could escalate. Kristen Robinson has details – Mar 12, 2017

Residents of a Surrey neighbourhood are on edge after a series of thefts in the area.

One of the homeowners captured one incident on their surveillance camera. The video shows a bright orange truck with two people inside stopping in front of the home. A man then gets out, walks up to the front door and steals several pairs of shoes.

Residents in the neighbourhood, which is not being identified at this time, say they are concerned the people are cruising the streets and looking for bigger theft opportunities.

“I think they’re just looking for something quick that they can flog quickly and they’re just being brazen,” said one resident.

Another camera in the neighbourhood also caught the truck entering the cul-de-sac before the footwear heist.

Many residents told Global News they have seen the two men and their truck multiple times and they have also experienced break-ins.

Hours following the daylight shoe theft, when the suspect vehicle returned to the area a few hours later, the homeowner caught up to the alleged thief and ended up getting two pairs of shoes back. The third had already been sold.

Now residents just hope someone recognizes the orange Harley Davidson lowered Truck and knows something about the drivers.
