Work is slated to start this fall to widen and improve curves on a two kilometre section of Westside Road near the La Casa development, about 40 kilometres north of the Highway 97 intersection.

The work is slated for completion in late 2018 at an estimated cost of $12 million.

“This is a very narrow and winding section of road, with steep slopes on one side and a high embankment on the other,” said Premier Christy Clark, MLA for Westside-Kelowna in a news release. “A wider shoulder and a concrete barrier will mean an easier drive with safer conditions.”

In 2014, the government ear-marked $45 million over five years for Westside Road improvements.
