One woman dead after accident on Highway 1 during blizzard

One woman has been left dead and six others were brought to hospital after a collision west of Regina after a blizzard swept through the region.

According to Moose Jaw EMS, two SUVs, a charter bus and a car were in an accident on Trans-Canada Highway 1 between Moose Jaw, Sask and Regina. Paramedics from Moose Jaw and Regina transported six patients to hospital and a lone female in one of the SUVs was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR) said STARS was unable to fly due to weather, so its paramedics picked up four of the crew members from the Regina airport.

RCMP has not determined the cause of the accident and the investigation is ongoing.
