A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in northwest Edmonton Friday morning was still in hospital Monday with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Officers responded to a “serious collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle” that happened at 8:25 a.m.
The EPS were told a 64-year-old man was crossing 128 Avenue between 97 Street and 101 Street when a 2012 white Ford Econoline van heading east on 128 Avenue struck the pedestrian.
Traffic on 128 Avenue was shut down while police investigated.
EPS Traffic Section continues to investigate.
“The information that we’re aware of is we have a pedestrian who was crossing the avenue and a vehicle was northbound making the eastbound turn onto 128 Avenue at which time contact was made with the pedestrian who was crossing the avenue,” Sgt. James McLeod said. “The location where we believe this happened was outside where one reasonably would be crossing.”
