Multiple fire trucks could be seen surrounding an Air Canada Express-Jazz plane at Edmonton International Airport Tuesday afternoon after it returned to Alberta’s capital shortly after departing.
In a statement to Global News, Jazz Aviation LP said the plane had left Edmonton and was enroute to Vancouver when “an odour in the cabin” was detected and the crew decided to return to Edmonton for “maintenance inspection as a precautionary measure.”
The emergency crews could be seen converging on the aircraft at around 4:20 p.m.
“The flight landed safely in Edmonton and maintenance personnel inspected the aircraft upon arrival,” Jazz Aviation LP said.
No injuries were reported.
According to Jazz Aviation LP, after maintenance inspection, the flight was able to re-depart for Vancouver.
