Firearms seized at disturbance call in Mayfair neighbourhood: Saskatoon police

One person is in custody and firearms were seized after Saskatoon police responded to a disturbance call in the Mayfair neighbourhood.

At around 2:35 p.m. CT on Wednesday, officers were called to a home in the 600-block of 38th Street West.

Police were told there was at least one firearm inside the residence and a man may be barricaded inside.

Members of the tactical support unit were brought in and traffic in the area was restricted.

Police officials said the incident ended peacefully when a man exited the home and gave himself up to officers.

Two firearms were recovered from the home.

No injuries were reported.

Police continue to investigate.
