Homicide unit investigating after body discovered along Humber River trail in Etobicoke

The police homicide unit is investigating after a 32-year-old Toronto man was found dead in a west-end park late Monday evening.

Police said the body was located by three people as they were walking along the Humber River recreational trail close to Bergamot Avenue and Islington Avenue before midnight.

There’s no word yet on the circumstances surrounding the death, but police said Mohamed El Hatimy died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said they are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are also looking for surveillance footage in the area.

No suspect information was made available.
