Two Pincourt students in custody following reports of firearm on campus

The lockdown at Chene Bleu High School in Pincourt has been lifted after Quebec provincial police received a phone call Monday about a possible firearm on campus.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) confirmed the tip came in just before 12 p.m.

SQ spokesperson Joyce Kemp told Global News a group of teenagers were near the school and one of them may have been in possession of a firearm.

Police said protocol calls for a lockdown of the school in order to search for the suspected individual(s).

Students were secured in the school, where they awaited updates.

Two students from the school were apprehended following the search.

One of them was in possession of a BB gun.

They told Global News police officers searched through their backpacks and lockers before finding the student with the gun.
