She said it’s great to have the support of the Firefighters Association and the community, and says everyone deserves to have a turkey at Christmas.

Fredericton Firefighters Association president Evan Gilks said he, along with all the other members of the fire department, said they’re happy to help out.

Greener Village staff say their goal is to collect 1,200 turkeys before December 23.  In total to date there have been close to 900 turkeys donated or purchased through donations.
