Premiers, mayors, even zoos betting on outcome of Calgary-Toronto Grey Cup

TORONTO – The bets are coming from all corners as the Toronto Argonauts and the Calgary Stampeders get ready to square off in Sunday’s 100th Grey Cup game.

Alberta Premier Alison Redford has bet Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty that the Stamps will be victorious in the CFL championship in Toronto.

The losing province will have to donate 100 warm clothing items to a charitable group of the winning premier’s choice.

Calgary Mayor Naheed (nah-HEAD’) Nenshi (NEHN’-shee) and Toronto Mayor Rob Ford have agreed that the losing leader – wearing the opponent’s jersey – will donate his weight in food to the winning city’s food bank.

Even the respective zoos are in on the action.

The CEO of the Calgary Zoo has agreed to scrub his animal park’s penguin exhibit if the Stamps lose; his counterpart will clean the Toronto Zoo’s giraffe house if the Argos go down to defeat.
