Southern Manitoba’s first major winter storm of the season hit Tuesday.
Because of the blowing snow, icy roads and blizzard conditions in some areas, highway conditions are poor.

Closures
- Highway 1 is closed from Portage la Prairie to the Saskatchewan border.
- Highway 2 is closed from Winnipeg to Highway 13.
- Highway 2 is closed from Highway 18 to Souris.
- Highway 3 is closed from the Perimeter Highway to Morden.
- Highway 13 is closed from Highway 1 to Highway 14.
- Highway 14 is closed from Highway 75 to Morden.
- South of the border Interstate 29 has been shut down from the Canadian border to Fargo.
- Highway 75 is closed from Winnipeg to Emerson.
Partly snow covered and poor visibility
- Highway 7 from Winnipeg to Highway 67.
- Highway 6 from Winnipeg all the way to Ashern.
- Highway 1 from Winnipeg to Highway 12.
- Highway 15 from Winnipeg to Anola.
- Highway 3 from Winnipeg to Highway 247.
- Highway 2 from Oakbluff to Starbuck.
- Highway 16 from Portage la Prairie to the Saskatchewan border.
- Highway 17 from Highway 329 to Highway 325.
- Highway 224 from Highway 325 to Fisher Bay.
- Highway 75 from Winnipeg to Emerson.
- Highway 23 from Morris to Highway 59.
- Highway 304 from Pine Falls to Bissett.
- Highway 10 from Minnedosa to Highway 45.
Highway driving is especially tricky with the high winds and blowing snow.

Manitoba Highways’ Derek Trainer said it’s a tough morning.
“Pretty much all highways across southern Manitoba are snow-covered and there is that blowing snow which is causing poor visibility on most highways. It is tough winter driving, definitely,” he said.
He says in some spots it is difficult to see where the lanes are.
