Montreal transit buses, cars, trucks slam into each other in winter weather

A video being shared widely on Facebook captured a chaotic scene in Montreal Monday morning.

Two transit buses, a police car, a snow plough and several cars spun out and smashed into each other, seemingly unable to navigate the wintry weather.

It all started when a Société de transport de Montréal (STM) bus slid into four cars on Beaver Hall Hill – notoriously a steep street, just above de la Gauchetière Street.

A video posted to Facebook by Willem Shepherd shows a Téo taxi narrowly missing the bus, sliding perpendicular into potential oncoming traffic.

“Crazy morning outside the office,” Shepherd wrote on the video, which has been shared over 51,000 times.

The video continues when a truck hits the back of the bus before being sandwiched by a second bus.

Not long after, a police car, lights flashing starts to slide down the steep hill, spins around and hits the bus.

A snow removal truck then crashes into the police car.

According to Montreal police spokesperson Raphael Bergeron, there were no injuries.
