Police said officers were called to a crash at Dahl Drive and Highway 43 at about 6 a.m.

According to the Mounties, a Whitecourt Municipal Fire Rescue Tanker was en route to a structure fire when it collided with an SUV at the intersection.

They said witnesses told them the fire truck’s emergency lights were on at the time of the crash.
