Regina police are treating a man who died in a house fire back in October as a homicide.

Firefighters responded to a large fire at a home in the 1500 block of McTavish Street early on Oct. 11. Police were called to assist at around 3:35 a.m.
Police along with the Office of the Chief Coroner said that 31-year-old Ryan Daniel Sugar who died in the house fire at 1555 McTavish street is now being treated as a homicide.

Fire crews found the body of a person inside the house. Police said the house was searched as well as they could be during the fire, given the extreme heat and instability of the structure.

Police said Major Crimes investigators have made significant progress in the investigation and no other details will be released at this time. If anyone has any information on this crime they are asked to call police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
