The city of Toronto has opened most of its outdoor ice rinks this weekend — a sure sign that winter is fast approaching

“The opening of our city-run ice rinks is the true kickoff for the winter season in Toronto,” said Mayor John Tory.

“Enjoying outdoor skating across the city is part of what makes winters in Toronto great.”

A full list of ice rinks is available here.  Weather permitting, all of them will open by December 3 according to the city of Toronto’s website.

“Winter may be cold, but it also presents a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors,” said Coun. James Pasternak, chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee.
