Convicted sex offender William Parsons is a free man.
The 76-year-old was released from prison Thursday after serving two-thirds of his sentence.

In 2012, Parsons was found guilty of sexually abusing three young girls at his late-wife’s Caruso Street daycare in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in Montreal’s West Island.
The facility closed down soon after the police investigation began.

As a condition of his release, Parsons must wear an electronic tracking bracelet and live at a halfway house for six months.
In its decision, the Parole Board of Canada expressed concern that Parson’s risk of re-offending in a violent way has increased, which is why they imposed certain conditions.
Though a spokesperson declined to comment on the decision, the board noted that Parsons told caseworkers in May that he would have vengeance one day and implied that it would be against any child whatsoever.
Defense lawyer Andrew Barbacki explained a three-year sentence is average under Canadian law.
“I would say that with those kind of conditions, should he go astray, it won’t be long before he’s before the courts again and in custody, honestly,” he said.

He must also stay away from his victims, as well as a neighbourhood bike path and streets where his victims could be.
Parsons can also not go near any children unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
