Police were called to a disturbance in the 0-100 block of Alderney Landing at 2:36 p.m.

A group of about five people were in the area when two men became involved in a physical altercation.

An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the hand, breaking his finger. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was quickly arrested and held in custody overnight.

Police determined the suspect and victim knew each other and the incident was not random.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and five counts of breach of a probation order.
