If you’re heading out on mountain highways throughout the Okanagan, prepare for heavy snow.
“It’s the first significant snowfall of the season,” Global News meteorologist Duane English said.
The Okanagan Connector and Allison Pass are expected to have five – 10 centimeters of snow fall overnight.
But snow won’t be the only issue for anyone driving the mountain passes.
“It’s going to be windy too,” English said. “So that means snow will be blowing around and visibility will be poor.”
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement advising of the snowfall for the Okanagan Connector, which has since been lifted. As of late Wednesday that weather statement was still in effect for Highway 3 through Allison Pass and the Coquihalla Highway between Merritt and Hope.
