One person is dead and six injured, including a six-year-old child, after a shooting at a child’s birthday party in Dyersburg, Tennessee, according to local media reports.
Police said a 21-year-old woman was found dead at the party, and a six-year-old was rushed to hospital in Memphis, according to WMC Action News 5. The other five victims were taken to a local hospital.
BNO News reports that the shooting took place around 7 p.m. CT at the birthday party of a two-year-old child.
Police are looking for up to three people they believe were involved.
The Dyersburg Hospital was put on precautionary lockdown, which is hospital policy when there are multiple victims from the same crime, reports CBS affiliate WREG Memphis.
Dyersburg has a population of around 17,000 and is around 130 kilometres north east of Memphis
