Calgary police have seized nearly $50,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl during a drug trafficking investigation sparked by some conspicuous business cards.
Officers launched the investigation in September after receiving a tip from the public.
It’s alleged business cards which advertized a fake catering company called “TWJ’s Catering Service” were handed out by drug dealers. Police said the cards included three names and phone numbers.
Investigators were able to identify two people thought to be involved.
On Monday, police searched two homes – one in the 200 block of Fresno Place N.E. and one in the 0-100 block of West Springs Road S.W. – as well as two vehicles.
Through the search, police seized the following:
- 67.7 grams of crack cocaine
- 742 fentanyl pills
- 99 fentanyl/heroin pills
- 31.3 grams of methamphetamine
- 118.7 grams of powder cocaine
- $22,010 cash
Jeffery Truong, 21, and Christian Lay, 24, both of Calgary, are facing 17 charges.
They are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 4, 2017.
