Markham man charged after 2 women allegedly sexually assaulted while riding buses

A 62-year-old Markham man has been charged after police said two women were sexually assaulted while riding public transit.

York Regional Police said a 21-year-old woman reported two sexual assaults to officer on Nov. 1. The victim said while riding a bus during the early morning hours in south Markham, she was sleeping and woke up after a man touched her inappropriately. The woman told police it happened again days later. She then reported what happened.

While investigating, officers identified a second victim and found a similar sexual assault occurred.

The man was identified and arrested on Nov. 3.

Vishnu Roche has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.

He is scheduled to appear in a Newmarket court on Nov. 30.
