Bus service has been disrupted this weekend after the union that represents Saskatoon Transit drivers moved forward with job action.
The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 615 has directed its operators to refuse overtime and work to rule as contract talks have failed.

The City of Saskatoon said it has tried all ways possible to mitigate the effects, but it will be decreasing the frequency of another route on Sunday.

Route 2 Meadowgreen will only be providing hourly service from the downtown terminal starting at 7:15 p.m. CT. Both 7:44 p.m. and 8:44 p.m. departures will be cancelled.
Five routes were disrupted on Saturday.
Access Transit will operate normally as it an essential service.

There is no word yet on how the job action will affect transit service during the work week.
Bus users can stay informed of any disruptions or delays by following service alerts. Individuals without access to the internet can call the customer service line at 306-975-3100.
Union members of Saskatoon Transit have been without a contract since 2012.
