27-year-old charged in 2015 hit-and-run that seriously injured elderly man in Surrey

A 27-year-old Surrey man is facing two charges in relation to a 2015 hit-and-run incident that sent an elderly man to hospital.

On April 6, 2015, police were in the 12600-block of 92nd Avenue and 127 Street in Surrey when they witnessed a hit-and-run crash between a car and a pedestrian.

According to police, a silver Honda Civic was seen speeding from the scene, leaving an 85-year-old man seriously injured. The victim sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police believed at the time the car had a single male driver.

After completing their investigation, Surrey RCMP arrested Aman Sanghera and charged him with failure to stop at an accident causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.

Sanghera was arrested on Nov. 3 and appeared in court.

He has since been released and his next court date is pending.
