Copeman’s previous party was Coalition Montréal.

Although he was from a rival camp, Copeman served on the city’s executive committee, responsible for the Urban and Housing Planning portfolio.

“The way Russell conducts himself is truly a model for municipal politics and policies,” Coderre said. “And this is the kind of Montreal I want, everybody together [as] part of the solution.”

Coderre tried to recruit Copeman during the 2013 elections.
