Kevin Bacon, the runaway pig, was reunited with his owner after briefly being on the ham… or lam, in Dartmouth on Tuesday.
Halifax Regional Police tweeted a photo of Kevin Bacon with a police officer after he’d been spotted wandering “footloose” around a Dartmouth neighbourhood. Social media has been sizzling ever since.
People called police after they spotted Kevin, a potbellied pig, strolling around the area of Russel Street. Officers found him and literally brought home the bacon to owner Liz Randall.

Apparently, the curious pet pig got “fancy free” after the fence around his enclosure broke and he was able to wander away.
“He’s adorable,” Const. Dianne Woodworth told The Canadian Press, adding that she doesn’t think they’ve ever had a pig loose in the city before.
“He was lovely – he was very happy to see them and very friendly and wasn’t scared to see them.”
