An American Airlines flight headed for Toronto from Los Angeles was diverted to Denver Sunday due to “reports of an odour onboard.”
Flight 569 landed in Denver, Colorado just before 11:50 a.m. MT and taxied to the gate without incident, American Airlines spokesman Kent Powell told Global News in a written statement.
Powell said maintenance crews are investigating the cause of the odour.
The Airbus 319 aircraft was carrying around 100 passengers and five crew members.
“We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers and are working to get our customers to their destination as safely and quickly as possible,” Powell wrote.
The airline said it is aiming to get passengers to Toronto by 7 p.m. ET.
The incident comes two days after an American Airlines flight destined for Miami caught fire at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport causing passengers to evacuate the aircraft.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
