The Montreal Express Barbershop Quartet stopped by Global News Morning Wednesday to sing their rendition of “Hello, Mary Lou.”
Quartet tenor Gerry Green explains barbershop style-music is “the blending of smooth voices, in sweet harmony that brings everything together.”

“It’s growing. People are calling us and saying ‘hey, can I get in there?’ ‘Can I listen?’ ‘Can I join?'” he said.
The group took part in their first competition last May in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Most recently, they were in Portland, Maine.
“We did not bad, we’re a new quartet and we learned an awful lot to carry over into the next competition,” said Green.
Montreal Express is currently recruiting new members and says everyone is welcome to audition.
