A Vancouver resident was shocked to discover a naked man in his home on Tuesday, cooking eggs in his kitchen.

Police say just after 8 p.m. a 35-year-old man walked into a home near Cambie Street and King Edward Avenue, removed his clothes and shoes, took eggs out of the fridge and began to prepare himself a meal. He ended up damaging the stove and microwave in the process.

Police say the door to the home was closed but it wasn’t locked.

Surprisingly, the resident of the home was in the other room and watching TV and heard the noise the man was making but he thought it was his roommate.

When he went to investigate however, he found the naked man, chased him out of the house and called police.

When officers caught up with him a few blocks away he was still naked. He was arrested and charges of mischief and break-and-enter have been requested.

Police say there have been 1,600 residential break-ins in Vancouver so far this year. Approximately one out of every three show no signs of forced entry and someone was able to get in through an unlocked or open door or window.

This is actually not the first time police in Vancouver have arrested a naked man for breaking into a home and making eggs.
