Ontario man, 73, charged in alleged sex assaults, some involving girls aged 6 to 8

INNISFIL, Ont. — A 73-year-old man is now facing 12 charges following an investigation into alleged sexual assaults.

South Simcoe police say they began investigating reports three girls between the ages of six and eight were sexually assaulted last summer in Innisfil, Ont.

Investigators said Thursday that an Innisfil man was arrested on Sept. 30 and charged with three counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference.

They say since the arrest, three more complainants have came forward with allegations dating as far back as 1977 and as recent as 2016.

Police say the man – who had been released with a November court date – was re-arrested and charged with an additional three counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and one count of indecent assault on a female.

They say he is being held in custody.
