A Toronto Uber driver has been charged after police said a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted during a ride into the city last month.
On Saturday, Toronto police began an investigation after the woman reported she was sexually assaulted on Sept. 23 just before 4 a.m.
Police said she ordered an Uber from Thornhill to her home in Toronto, when the driver sexually assaulted her during the trip.

Nephat Siziba, 55, of Toronto has been charged with one count of sexual assault and was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.

“The behaviour described here is unacceptable and we’ve removed that driver’s access to the platform as we look into this,” Uber spokeswoman Kayla Whaling told Global News.
“This driver has been permanently removed from Uber and we have been in contact with the Toronto police and will provide any information to them for their ongoing investigation.”

Investigators said they are concerned there may be other alleged victims and have released photos of the suspect and his vehicle.
