The collision happened just after 3 p.m. when the woman was crossing a crosswalk at Yew Street, according to a statement from the Vancouver Police. She was struck by an SUV driven by a 74-year-old man making a left turn onto West 49th Avenue.

The SUV driver is cooperating with the police, who towed his vehicle for mechanical testing, the statement said. The exact cause of the crash has not been determined, but investigators don’t consider speed or alcohol to have been factors.
