Former Calgary coach gets 5 years prison for sexual relationship with young girl

CALGARY – A former lacrosse coach has been sentenced to five years in prison for a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Kelly Feser, 48, was convicted of two counts of sexual interference.

In her impact statement, the victim said Feser took her innocence, her childhood and a normal life.

The victim said she continues to experience flashbacks and suffers from anxiety.

His trial was told Feser had sexual relations with the girl two or three times a week beginning when she was 13 years old and lasting for four years.

The judge in the case said he believed the victim’s description of Feser’s “grooming strategy” of making small talk, sharing cigarettes, and then talking about more personal problems.
